8 weeks to go

I have just under 8 weeks till baby Jax is due to enter our little world.  Each week I try and get one of the bigger items that we have left on our list.  These are the big purchases off the list this week.

Natures Purest Bassinet
This week we picked up the bassinet, it's Natures Purest and I'm loving it as does Gaston the Pug. Mum got a sock monkey for him which Gaston also has his eyes on.  The bassinet can rock or you can put these little leg things down so it can't rock. It has mesh sides also which will be good. I got 2 mattress protectors, 3 sets of Bamboo sheets and a few blankets to go in it.   My plan is for Jax to sleep in our room in the bassinet at night and in his nursery cot for day sleeps but we'll see what happens.

Aroma-Bloom
I have been searching for a pretty diffuser/humidifier for the nursery and found this one online. While at Carindale yesterday the exact shop I've been looking at online had a stall set up for Mother's Day at the shopping centre with $30 off. I was so excited as I'd never seen them in real life and chose the charcoal to match the nursery. I also got 2 of the oil blends, Breathe and Relax for $15 each instead of $20. I used it last night with the Breath blend as I'm suffering from a horrific flu.
The Aroma-Bloom is an Aromatherapy Diffuser, Ioniser, Humidifier, Air Purifier and a mood light. Check out their website to see what these do www.livelyliving.com.au

Ubbi Diaper Pail
After lots of research I decided on the Ubbi Diaper Pail for the dirty nappies. I liked that it came in really cute colours, was made of metal instead of plastic and you don't have to buy expensive bags.

B.Box Bottle
I ordered this with my Ubbi so that I got free shipping, I refuse to pay for shipping if I can help it!  This is the cutest darn bottle with a place to keep the formula and then when you're out and about and need to make a bottle you simply press the button at the bottom and it dispenses the formula into the bottle I got it I a aqua colour but it looks a bit different in the photograph.

Next week I'm thinking about getting his baby bath and stand (we have a Spa that is way too big to bathe him in)

The nursery so far...

So this is the nursery so far, the colours look a bit strange because I took these pics late at night. Everything looks so yellow, I might have to retake them during the day. I now have all my main furniture for the nursery, I do need some curtains and some shelves for inside the cupboard but can live without those things for now.  I have ordered my diaper bin which should arrive tomorrow or after the weekend.   The biggest addition is our gorgeous glider.  It is an Olli Ella glider and I'm completely in love with it and the colours match the nursery perfectly.
I'm not sure if I had my 4Moms Mumaroo last time I showed the nursery and I also got a Bumbo!  Both these will live downstairs once baby boy arrives along with the pram that will obviously be in the car.
I have tried to set up the little side baskets of the change table so they are ready, I think I have everything that I'll need.  Butt cream, wipes and  cotton buds and nappies on the other side. I've also hung all my bibs off the changeable but they might move to the kitchen or maybe half do them to the kitchen.  On the other side I've hung his 2 towels and his capule cover which will live in the car once the capsule arrives.
Lastly I had to take a pic of all his cute shoes. I love lil boy shoes!!!

Enjoy xx

More baby purchases

 This weeks baby purchases

I have received a few packages this week that I wanted to share with the world.  I got a Bonds package from ozsale.com.au which was full of lots of great bargains all brand new.  Jax got another Nanny pickle outfit with matching hat.  He also got another set of Peter Alexander Pjs.  He's gonna be so cute!

My beautiful custom made Grey & Yellow mobile is ready and paid for! The seller is Sunshine & Vodka on etsy and I can't recommend her enough.  Can't wait till it arrives.  I am getting his name embroidered onto one of the clouds.

I found this little rope jar with a bird on top today at a Dollar store and thought it would be perfect for dummies.  These are his 0-6 month dummies and I still have a few more packets in the draw to put in.  This little robot is my husbands but I'm going to steal it for the nursery, it will look so cute on a little shelf somewhere.

Got this Mimco packable to throw in my baby bag.  It folds out into a bigger shopping bag which I thought would be great for extra storage while I'm out.
Got baby boy a muslin wrap which will hopefully match the nursery decor, hoping to get an old timber ladder painted grey next week which will hold all his wraps etc.
Terrible photo but this is the mirror I got for the nursery, ignore the pug who is photo bombing!  Not sure where it will go but will figure that out later.

My New Pram!!!  I got the Mima Kobi with the second seat.  I found it on gumtree from a guy who won it in a competition but doesn't have kids so he sold it to me brand new for $800, it retails with all the extras he gave me at $1799!!! BARGAIN

Well that's all I got this week... I think!  Can't think of anything else I've bought but I'm sure there is more.  I can't wait for this lil boy to arrive!

Baby boy purchases so far

So as I write this my nerd of a husband (love him)is off playing 'Dungeons and Dragons' for the next 6 or so hours so I'm going to catch up on my blog.

Currently I am 17 weeks today and am feeling pretty good.  The occasional heartburn but I've had that since I was about 12 so it's not really a big difference.  I still fit into normal pants but have started wearing my maternity jeans in the last week cuz they're so comfy.

We found out that baby is a little boy at my 15 week gender scan (I had it done at Precious Previews for those of you in Brisbane) and they said it was a boy.  I am getting one more scan next week just to be sure because I've spent so much money on little boy clothes, if it's a girl then my Sister in Law who is having a boy in a few months gets all my new stuff :(

I have bought way to much stuff but the list of things I still need seems to be endless.  I only like to buy things on sale so I'm online all the time trying to find the best deals, I've done pretty well so far.   I have opted for a pretty neutral nursery, I'm not into really bright themed nurserys.  The nursery will be Grey and white with bits of baby blue and other soft colours.

Stokke Cot and Change Table

We found the Stokke cot and Stokke changetable on sale at David Jones for 30% off so bought the change table in the Whitewash and the cot in White.  They were the only ones left but I think the colours go well together even though they don't match.

Mimco Baby bag

One of the only things I haven't got on sale is my Mimco baby bag.  I ended up getting the Zetta baby bag in black with black hardware.  I'm hoping it's going to a good size and I love the pockets on the outside for bottles and bits.

 Connies

These little Converse are my favorite things we have for baby Jax.  Mum bought them back from USA and holy moly they are so stinkin cute!  Gotta get his daddy a matching pair.

 Free products!

Now for some freebies, that's right, these were FREE!!!!
I got this feeding pillow and breastfeeding cover both for free I just had to pay for shipping which was about $15 to Australia.

Random baby items

This is just random things I have purchased or been gifted so far.  I have tonnes and tonnes of other things, lots of clothes, dummies, shoes, etc.
The Silicone bottles I got for $3 so I bought 3 packets of them.  Sophie the Giraffe was a gift from a beautiful friend.  Mum got me the Motorola Video baby monitor.  I'm loving the glass bottles and got a few of them at the baby bunting sale.  Bought lots of dummies for less then half price on mumgo.com.au.  Mum got me the grass drying rack in USA.

Until next time,

Nappy Cake

Hi,

I'm posting this for my friend so she knows how to make a Nappy Cake.  This is a great idea for a baby shower gift.  I've made a few but this one was my latest and I just can not find the final photo of it because I added lots more stuff after this pic was taken
Needed -
Small Rubber Bands
Large Rubber Bands
Box of Nappies
Ribbon
Extra items I used - Ralph Lauren Polo, Spoon, Crocs, Dummys, Face washers, Disposable Nappy bags, Baby powder, Baby oil, cotton buds etc.  Basically anything you want you can put in.

I have no idea how many nappies I used but it was a just a normal packet, maybe 35-40ish?  You have to roll each nappy up and secure with a rubber band.  There's lots of tutorials on youtube on how to do this.  I then made a circle with them and with the large rubberbands secured the base.  For the base I also added a blanket and folded it up and it fit perfectly around, I secured the blanket with a tag gun.  For the next level I took out a few nappies and replaced with rolled up face washers.  Once this layer was done I just kept sliding the extra gifts into this level and then hid the bands with pretty ribbon.  Next for the top level I only ended up using one nappy and attached it to the little croc shoes.  You can sit it all on a cake board or put something through the middle so all levels are secure but I never do that.  I just carry it and it never falls.  Decorate with little trinkets found at junk stores in the baby shower section.  I did this but never took the photo with all the decorations.
